I wanted to cover the subject of web based films. This is a good one couse it takes advantage of the web discourse to create a different kind of documentary, divided into episodes that you can watch in whatever order you want: Camera War, by Lech Kowalski.
What's good about it?
The way it's edited, and the bits of "reality" it shows
Who may like it?
If you're tired of Discovery Channel documentarys, and wanted to see something different, this is your movie!
My advise
Go straight to the nazis protest in the US.
Here's the site, it's all available online.
This is the english version of my blog "todo se termina acá". The point is to share cool audio-visual things, like short films, movies, and music videos.

Good Movies 7
I recently realized that, even though it was a great recent hit, not many people now this sub-product from The Matrix universe: Animatrix. That's why I wanted to take this oportunity to recommend it. It's a series of short films produced by The Matrix directors, the Wachowsky brothers, directed by many great Anime directors.
What's good about it?
Breathtaking animation, made by japanese masters, and their view of the matrix world. If you never watched Anime, this is a great way to start. Right after watching this nine masterpieces, you will have to see the work of each of these japanese directors, from whom there are great jobs like "Cowboy Beebop" or "Eaon Flux".
Who may like it?
If you liked Matrrix 1 (wich is the only good one of all the movies) this is the other matrix subproduct worth watching.
My advise
As I said before, if you liked this, search for the work of the directors... they're way better than the Wachowsky brothers.
Here's the trailer.

Good Movies 6
And with this entry I'm closing the thread on great directors: Stanley Kubrick, "Paths of glory". It was hard to choose a film of this great director, but I strongly recomend to watch all of his films from "Lolita" til "Eyes wide shut", they're all masterpieces and none is like the other.
What's good about it?
It's about world war 1, and I know not too many movies about that war, and even less with a critic view. And is a great aproach to Kubrick's work. Although it will seem old for many people.
Who may like it?
Adult audience, male mostly, and specially if you liked other Kubrick's films and wanted to go back to his starts.
My advise
Is good to know a bit about the WW1 before watching, but you can still follow the story. Guess it's for Kubrick's fans mostly.

Good Movies 5
Continuing with the thread on my favorite directors, I bring you Woody Allen, with this fake documentary wich applied the trick of adding the character in archive old movies, like Forrest Gump did many years later but in a lacimous non funny way: Zelig.
What's good about it?
The way it mimics old documentary movies, and the genius sense of humor of the director.
Who may like it?
Adult audience, with "intelligent" sense of humor.
My advise
I think most Woody Allen films are enjoyable with your couple, and always generates interesting conversation issues afterwards. So, watch it with your couple before dinner. I couldn't find the real trailer, so just lesson to me.

Good Movies 4
Today I'm starting a thread on some of my favorite directors. Since Chris Nolan latest film has just came out, I'm starting with him.
The movie I recomend today is his first film: "Following"
What's good about it?
It's a descent thriller, and an introduction to the way the director cuts the time structure of his films. Can get slow from time to time, but it presents many aspects that will be present on his following films, like giving a clue of the resolution on the first picture of the movie.
Who may like it?
I would say, male adult audience, specially if you liked other Nolan's films.
My advise
This one is special for those interested on following the work of this director, starting with the less known of his films.

Good movies 3
I'm changing "cool" for "good" since I'm not 12 anymore...
This time, a recent french comedy, "Intouchables" by Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano.
What's good about it?
The main characters. They make a great couple. And the fact that is based on a real story.
Who may like it?
Anyone over 15 years old, but I guess an adult audience may apreciate it more.
My advise
Is better not to know anything about it before watching, since the first scene generates an intrigue that is no good if you know what the story is about. Should be enough to know that it was a success, with over 13 million viewers worldwide, and it's a good oportunity to see what's produced outside of Hollywood, but with a classic structure.

Cool Movies 2
Today I recommend the best movie I've seen this year: We need to talk about Kevin, directed by Lynne Ramsay.
1. What's good about it?
The way it takes you through the subjectivity of the main character, taking place from a point of view nobody wants to see (In a way, it reminds me to The woodsman)
2. Who may like it?
In this case is more for cinema and art fans. If you don't see anything that doesn't comes from Hollywood, this is not your movie.
3. My advise
It was worth to see it in the theater, so try watching it with no interruptions. It doesn't change you anything to know about the plot beforehand, it's not what it tells but how it tells it what's important.

Cool movies 1
This entry should have been published yesterday, but, i promise it'll be on time next Thursday:
Today's recommendation will be "Stranger than fiction", directed by Marc Forster, starring Will Farrell, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman.
1. What's good about it?
The script. It has an original way to interact the narrative instance with the story (there's a character who is the narrator). It's interesting enterteiment.
2. Who may like it?
Adult audience, over 20 years old, no genre distinction, looking for enterteinment with a higher creative "flight". No need to be a critic to enjoy it.
3. My advise
Good couples movie, when in need of distraction. Try not to know anything about the story before seeing it, it's better that way.
This is the trailer link, if you want to follow my advise, don't watch it!
